Developing a New Generation of Legal Specialists

As part of the USAID Corporate Governance and Company Law Project, a three-semester graduate program on commercial legislation was developed by Gregory Maassen and Darrell Brown together with Professor Belicanes for Methodius University in Macedonia.

The program builds on local talent of the faculty and is financially sustainable (no donor funding is needed).The program is organized as follows (translated from Macedonian):

Companies – founding, governance and management. Within the frames of this course, 50 lectures will be dedicated to the contents of the first and second field of study as introductory lectures. The other fields of study shall be covered with a total of 60 classes as follows: 25 classes for the fourth and fifth field of study and 10 classes for the fifth field of study.

Contracts on transaction of goods, rights and services – Within the frames of this course 70 lectures will be dedicated to the third field of study as introductory classes. The other fields of study shall be covered with a total of 90 classes: 25 classes for the first and second field of studies, 30 classes for the fourth field of study and 10 classes for the fifth field of study.

Business, business transactions and development strategy of the enterprise – Within the frames of this course, 100 lessons will be dedicated to the third field of study as introductory lectures. The other fields of study shall be covered with a total of 60 classes: 15 classes for the first field of studies, and 20 classes for the second and third and 5 classes for fifth field of study.
