The Index is based on data from 100 of the country’s largest companies (including AEX/AMX). This year’s Board Index is based on data obtained solely from annual reports published between 1987 and 2002, companies’ investor relations pages on the Internet and other publicly accessible data to present an accurate picture of the public disclosure practices of leading companies in the Netherlands.

The Index is written in co-operation with the Corporate Governance Research Center of the Department of Strategic Management and Business Environment, Faculty of Business Administration at Erasmus University in the Netherlands.

The Index does not contain recommendations, classifications or any ranking other than alphabetical listings.  Information on the composition of Boards of Directors in this Index usually reflects the situation as presented in the latest annual reports published in 2002.
