Description:

The third edition of the Board Index combines the findings of questionnaires sent to Supervisory Board Chairmen of leading Dutch corporations in 1996 and 1997, a questionnaire sent to corporations in September 1998 and data obtained from annual financial reports published between 1987 and 1998.

Board information in the Index is also culled from corporate bylaws, corporations’ compliance reports with respect to the forty recommendations of the Peters Committee and other publicly accessible data. Where appropriate, comparisons are made with data from previous Dutch Board Indexes. The Index is written in co-operation with the Department of Strategic Management and Business Environment of the Faculty of Business Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
