Introduction

Gregory Maassen, Ph.D., manages technical assistance projects in developing countries. The projects are sponsored by leading international institutions such as the World Bank and USAID and typically focus on trade facilitation, judicial and legislative reform, good governance, capacity and association building, economic restructuring, land reform and community based development.

He is currently Chief of Party of the USAID/ACED program in Aqaba Jordan (2010-).

He was Senior Advisor to EMG with assignments in Washington DC, Iraq, Jordan, Indonesia and Uganda and Chief of Party and Technical Expert for USAID in Afghanistan (LTERA Project, 2006-2009), Chief of Party for USAID in Macedonia (CGCL Project, 2003-2006) and Head of Office and Project Manager and expert (1999-2002) for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group in Armenia and Russia.

Other experience with the IFC included assignments in Georgia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

As a tenured Adjunct Professor at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, he taught MBA courses on international financial markets, risk management and strategic management (1998-2009) and supervised Ph.D. students. In addition, he has taught numerous courses at other universities. He received a Fulbright scholarship from the US Department of State and has written over 40 articles, research papers and books (chapters).
